The Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, told the Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq war that the UK's involvement in the war has earned it respect in the Middle East.
Miliband is of the belief that many Arab countries now respected Britain more since the war.

He clearly lives on the planet Labour; There, the rules on everything are arse about face....The guiding principle is along the line of; "What would normal sensible people think, then do the opposite."
It is my belief that getting involved in the middle east was the single most damaging thing we could do in terms of our national security....We are now seen as the enemy by most ME states.....Thanks Labour!!
