USA Admits Goal To Destabilise Syria

Dissent In The State Department

Fifty one mid- to high-level State Department officers involved with advising on Syria policy have signed a dissent channel cable calling for military strikes against President Bashar al-Assad's government, to stop its persistent violations of the ceasefire.

That might be all very well for Washington based policy wonks to "bravely" put their heads above the parapet on paper. However, the reality is that any strikes on Assad will bring America into direct conflict with Assad's sponsor Russia.

Additonally, as with Iraq, what exactly is the game plan if Assad is toppled?

Do these cosseted staffers think the democracy will magically bloom overnight in the arid sands of the desert?

Remove Assad and you have ISIS, Al Qaeda and other idiots running the show!

The 51 dissenters should be sacked. Not for dissenting, but for being idiots!

Turkey Blackmails Europe

The EU would have the world believe that it has "resolved" the refugee crisis.

As per the BBC:

The EU heads said "bold moves" were needed to tackle the crisis, and made the following proposals:
  • All new irregular migrants crossing from Turkey to the Greek islands will be returned to Turkey, with the EU meeting the costs. Irregular migrants means all those outside normal transit procedures, ie without documentation. The term "illegal migration" usually refers to people smuggling
  • In exchange for every returned Syrian, one Syrian from Turkey will be resettled in the EU
  • Plans to ease access to the EU for Turkish citizens will be speeded up, with a view to allowing visa-free travel by June 2016
  • EU payment of €3bn ($3.3bn; £2.2bn) promised in October will be speeded up, and a decision will be made on additional funding to help Turkey deal with the crisis. Turkey reportedly asked for EU aid to be increased to €6bn
  • Preparations will be made for a decision on the opening of new chapters in talks on EU membership for Turkey
The reality is that Turkey, not content with shooting down Russian aircraft, banning freedom of speech and supporting ISIS has blackmailed the EU to pay it blood money and speed up its membership application for the EU; using refugees as the instrument of blackmail.

The EU has caved in to the nascent dictatorship and sponsor of terror that Erdogan has turned Turkey into.

The Syria Vote

MPs will vote at around 22:00GMT tonight about whether Britain should bomb ISIS in Syria.

Whatever the outcome of the vote, we can be sure that the decision made won't be the right one; as until ISIS is stopped by all means available (cut off oil and other revenues, boots on the ground, stabilisation of the Middle East and an ending to the West's need for Middle Eastern oil) it will continue to function in one shape or form or other locations.

Whose Side is Turkey On?

As per Bloomberg:
"On Thursday a court in Istanbul ordered that Cumhuriyet newspaper’s editor-in-chief Can Dundar, and Erdem Gul, the Ankara bureau chief, be jailed pending trial on charges of political and military espionage. Their crime: publishing images which allege to show Turkey’s intelligence agency shipping weapons to Syria.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan dismissed the allegations as baseless this week: "Those trucks were trucks carrying aid to our Bayirbucak Turkmen," he said, referring to a Turkic tribe backed by Turkey that’s resident in northern Syria, where civil war has been raging for four years.

As to whether the trucks were carrying arms: "So what if they were, so what if they weren’t?" he said."
With friends like these who needs enemies?

Erdogan Tries To Shut The Stable Door

Erdogan should have thought of that before shooting the plane down.

Turkey Shoots Down Russian Fighter Jet

The FT reports that the Turkish Air Force shot down a Russian plane on Tuesday, according to a Turkish military official who said the aircraft violated Turkish airspace, “despite repeated warnings”.

Russia’s defence ministry on Tuesday confirmed that one of its jets had been shot down, but insisted it had not strayed into Turkish airspace.

“Today on the territory of Syria, presumably as a result of fire from the ground, a Russian Su-24 plane crashed in the Syrian Arabic Republic,” the defence ministry said in a statement quoted by Russian news wires. “The plane was at an altitude of 6,000 metres. The fate of the pilots is being confirmed. According to preliminary data, the pilots managed to eject.”

It added that the plane was “exclusively over Syrian territory throughout its entire flight”. “This is recorded by objective controls.”

Allegedly Turkey is fighting ISIS as well. However, the reality is that it is using its involvement in the Syrian conflict to further its military actions against the PKK with the tacit support of the USA.

As to its true intentions towards ISIS, the mainstream media may care to investigate and report on those senior Turkish officials who allegedly have links with ISIS and Turkey's involvement with the purchase of crude oil supplied by ISIS.

We are not all in this together by any manner or means!

HRH Completely Misses The Point on Syria

As per Reuters:
"Asked in the interview, which Sky said was filmed three weeks ago, whether there was direct link between climate change, conflict and terrorism, Charles said: "Absolutely.""
HRH should listen to what US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has to say on the subject.

Isis Declares Caliphate

Islamist militant group Isis has said it is establishing a caliphate, or Islamic state, on the territories it controls in Iraq and Syria.

It also proclaimed the group's leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, as caliph and "leader for Muslims everywhere".

Let's see how long that lasts then!

Kerry Warns Nations To Stay Out of Iraq

As Syrian warplanes have apparently bombed Sunni militants’ positions inside Iraq, US secretary of state John Kerry has warned that other nations should stay out lest the situation get out of control.

Who says Americans don't do irony?
